• Yukon

The Land of the Midnight Sun, that’s what they call the Yukon Territory. There is so much sunlight in the summer months that solar is a great option to power your home, cabin or go completely off-grid.

  • Northwest Territories

Electricity has steadily increased in the NWT over the last 10 years. A solar system can reduce or completely eliminate your usage. Did you know you can export your surplus solar energy in the summer back to the grid and receive credits to use in the winter months?

  • Nunavut

There are communities in Nunavut that do not see the sun set during the summer solstice. What does that mean for Solar? 24 hours of continuous production.

Yukon Solar

The Yukon Territory has the highest solar installations per capita in Western Canada. This is largely due to the great incentives that are available to the public for installing solar and our long summer days. Solar pays for itself through the energy savings as well as the Yukon micro-generation program. This program allows surplus power that is produced by a grid-tied system to be sold back to the grid at a higher rate. Our customers can benefit from this program and see a yearly cheque for surplus they have generated that is measured in real-time. Moreover, Yukon homeowners can receive up to $5,000 per electrical meter through the Residential Energy Incentive Program.

Northwest Territories Solar

Did you know that the Northwest Territories averages the same amount of sunlight per year as Germany? That’s right, our long spring, summer and fall days are so good for solar that you could produce the same amount of power as a home in Stuttgart, Germany.

Protect yourself from the rising prices of electricity in NWT that have averaged over 4% every year for the last decade and produce power for your home. With NWT’s Net Metering system in place, the surplus energy that your system produces in the sunny summer months is fed back into the grid and you receive credit in exchange. This means that in the winter months when your system is not producing as much, you can use those credits to offset the higher electrical bill.

Did you know that solar panels operate more efficiently at colder temperatures? We would love to
discuss options about solar installations with you; please contact us to further discuss the possibility
of solar in Nunavut.
