Bifacial Modules

Traditional panels only produce power from one side of the module, however a bifacial panel can produce on both sides of the panel. These can produce up to 30% more power than a traditional one-sided panel and are used in many of our ground mount systems and on locations that have highly reflective surfaces such as a white roof. These have also been used more recently as patio and deck coverings as they still allow natural light through.

Photovoltaic Modules

PV modules have become the standard for solar. They have steadily become more available to the public as pricing has come down and efficiency has increased. Many variations exist:

Polycrystalline: Manufacturing costs of these modules are lower than mono, but are less efficient. This is however a great alternative if space is not an issue for your solar array.

Monocrystalline: These modules are more efficient at come in at a higher price point. Perfect for smaller system designs that are limited by viable roof space. Allowing for more solar production per metre.

Split-cells: This panel design allows for more cells in a panel, this has the added benefit of increasing panel longevity and panel efficiency.

Inverters

Convert the Direct Current (DC) that is generated by your solar array to Alternating Current (AC) power that can be used by your home, or fed back into the grid. It is a critical balance of system (BOS) component in a PV system, allowing the use of ordinary AC-powered equipment like your lights, or stove. Solvest uses multiple brands and sizes of inverters for different sized projects and panels.

Optimizers

An optimizer is a DC to DC converter developed to maximize the energy harvested from your solar array. They do this by individually tuning the performance of the panel through maximum power point tracking (MPPT). They improve overall system performance.

Roof Racking System

Solvest uses a variety of mounting systems depending on your locations roofing material. If you have a shingled roof face, we have tin flashing that cover the entrance hole of the screw to protect your roof from any possible water damage. If you have a tin roof, we use a variety of clamps, some of which have no roof penetration at all. We also have ballasted systems if you have a flat roof, as to create no penetrations.

Ground Mount Racking System

Solvest uses a Nuance ground mounting system, that is easy to install and built of steel. These systems reduce installation time significantly and limit the costs of expensive machinery.

Smart Meters

These are digital devices that record the amount of energy you use in your home, and how much is supplied back to the grid. It gives you a way in real time to check both your consumption and export from your solar array. The device can be installed, by connecting it to your existing electrical panel.

Batteries

Batteries can be installed alongside renewable energy systems to provide power in times of poor weather for off-grid systems or emergency power during blackouts for grid-tied systems. Batteries used in renewable energy systems are designed to endure inconsistent charging and long periods of storage to align with their application

Labour

Our installation crews consist of red-seal electricians, carpenters and highly skilled labourers. Our teams are efficient and everyone on the crew serves a specific purpose. This allows us to have residential installation times as fast as 1 day and commercial times that can take as little as 2 days.
